Historically, there may seem to have been few women visibly contributing to hiphop, but the perception of minimal female involvement is far from accurate. In addition to the women who have lyrically represented the female perspective, there have been countless women who have made iconic contributions to the hiphop game. They are behind the music, making a name for themselves on and off the mic.
